“A genius can’t make good wine from bad fruit. However, even you can make great wine from great fruit!”

—Advice from a Slovakian winemaker & mentor who emigrated to the west from behind the iron curtain over 50 years ago.

With such sage Slovakian advice, we have been making wines here in Bar Harbor for over 15 years.

It is really quite simple; our method is to source the fruit for our wines based on quality, not fashion. We find independent growers throughout Europe and North America who practice sound viticultural methods, allowing us to make wines across a wide spectrum. We are able to offer simple fruit wines with delicate sweetness all the way up to complex and bold varietal reds.

Whether it’s apples and blueberries from Maine or delicate Pinot Noir grapes from northern Italy, we enjoy creating  delicious and interesting natural wine for you to enjoy.
